i’m trying to freak my mom out for mothers day
what do you think of my book?
ok i haven’t written much…when it says ledged of "their land" i haven’t thought of a name for where the creatures came from so just ignore that!
——————————————————————————————————
Ugh, the alarm clock again. Time to go to school, as if life isn’t torture enough.
It wouldn’t be so terrible if I had more than one friend in this prep town. People here don’t like individuality; it’s conform or be an outsider. I choose outsider.
“Bridget, wake up, it’s time for school!”
Mom, she likes me more than the air she’s breathing. She doesn’t care how I look or dress, she likes me anyways.
“I’m up mom.”
Hmm, what to wear…what to wear? Ha, like it matters, no one will be nice to me anyways. Why can’t they accept funky colored hair or piercings? It doesn’t change who you are inside.
Me, I’m Bridget Hawthorne a 5’3” blonde and pink haired, “punk” as some like to say, with brown eyes, who likes skinny jeans, wacky make-up, colorful hair, and piercings.
“Bridget, you have ten minutes to get down here and eat before the bus comes.”
Oh crap! It’s that late already? I should stop daydreaming. Brush my hair as I grab a pair of black jeans, a cute band tee, and my favorite pair of converse.
“Coming mom!” I yell as I throw my clothes on and brush my teeth.
School, the one place I despise the most in this town. One more year I keep telling myself, one more year and I’ll be out of here and free to do whatever I want.
“Ew, what a freak!”
I hear people whispering as I walk to my History class. I sit in my usual seat, and this gorgeous boy walked through the door. He looked about 6’2”, ice blue eyes, jet black shaggy hair, his lip pierced in snakebites, and even gauges in his ear! Whoa, who’s the new kid? He looks kind of like me. Oh, Mr. Collins walked in.
“Attention, Attention! We have a new student. Jeremy would you introduce yourself?”
He stood up.
“Um, I’m Jeremy Miller. I went here from Tampa Bay, Florida.”
And he sat back down. That’s it? I’m going to talk to him during lunch.
“Okay, class. Open to page 312, The Civil War.”
After an hour of torture from this class I head over to Algebra I.
As I sit in that classroom I notice another new boy walking in. He looks a lot like Jeremy, certainly just as cute but much shorter, about 5’6” and he wears his blonde hair in a cut like Pete Wentz; His eyes are two different colors, one green one blue, he also has his lip pierced but in the middle, and his baseball shirt revealed a tattoo on his left forearm. He stood in front of the class and introduced himself.
“Hi, I’m Aaron Manning, I went here from Tampa Bay, Florida.”
Then he took his seat.
“Today is test day class.” Mrs. Bancroft announced.
“Aaron, you don’t need to take it, you can just look at the book or do whatever you want as long as you’re silent.”
Ugh, I forgot today was test day! As the tests were getting passed out I looked over at him to see what he would do. He pulled out a ragged ancient book from his bag. Legends of “THE NAME OF THEIR LAND” that was its title. Hm, fascinating I wonder what it’s about.
“Pick up your pencils and start.”
Test time.
Ring, Ring. Yes, time for lunch. Time to go meet the new kids!
Heading in to the cafeteria, I noticed them by their lockers but there was one more. He was also tall, only a few inches shorter than Jeremy, I would say about 6’0”. He also had black hair cut like Aaron’s, and green eyes, no facial piercings but he also had gauges in his ears. I walked over to introduce myself.
“Hi, I’m Bridget. Welcome to our school!”
“Thanks, it’s quite nice here.” Jeremy answered.
“I’m Jeremy; this is Brad, and Aaron.”
“Hi.” I answered.
“Hi.” Brad and Aaron said at the same time.
“Would you want to eat lunch with me?” I questioned.
“Sure!” Jeremy answered quickly.
I could tell he was the oldest and most outspoken. As we walked to the cafeteria we talked about why they went, Florida and what they like.
“Why does everyone here look the same? It’s like a Barbie and Ken factory.” Aaron questioned from behind.
“Or the Stepford Wives.” Brad chided.
“Well,” I started. “Everyone here likes to conform—”
“Except you.” Jeremy observed.
“Exactly! I believe in being your own person, but no one here else does.”
“We noticed.”
“Yeah, it’s kind of creepy,” Brad clarified. “Everyone looks the same, but we all stick out.”
“Yes,” I chided. “But it’s kinda fun when people reckon you’re a freak.”
“Hah, it seems that way.” Jeremy finished.
When we got to our table with our food everyone stared. And my only friend, Ashlynn, came over.
“Hey Bridget!”
She’s one of the few people here who can see beyond what I wear.
“Hey,” I answered. “This is Jeremy, Brad, and Aaron. Guys, this is my friend Ashly
Ashlynn.” “Hello. Nice to meet you!” They all answered.
“Oh, I have to go. I’ll catch you guys later!”
As she walked away she gave me an I’ll be back look. As lunch went on we just talked. They all like the same bands and movies I like. Finally, some people who are like me! I thought to myself.
As I headed to the bus to go home I bumped into Aaron.
“Hey, all of us were wondering if you want to hang out sometime?”
“Sure, sounds like fun!” I said as I wrote down my number for him, and he gave me his.
“Okay, I’ll call you soon to plot.” He said as he walked away.
“Okay, bye.”
On the bus ride home they were all I could reckon about. They seemed so open, but yet like they were hiding something.
“Hi mom.”
“Hey Bridget. How was school?”
“Excellent! There are three new kids.”
“That’s exciting.”
“Yeah, and there all really nice.”
“Well that’s excellent.”
“Yes, but I need to go do my homework.”
I ran up the stairs to do my homework quickly so I could call Ashlynn and tell her about my day.
“Hey Ash!”
“Hey, what’s up? Who were those guys today?”
“There new to our school. There all really nice and I reckon we’ll be hanging out soon!”
“That’s excellent! You need more friends around this time.”
“Why? I have you.”
“Well not for long.”
What is she telling me? She doesn’t want to be my friend anymore? She’s moving? What is going on here?
“My family is—” She said as she choked out the words. “Moving . . . for a year to Australia. My dad got a temporary job there.”
Wow! This news isn’t simple to take.
All I could do is gasp.
“Bridget, Bridget? Are you okay?”
“Yeah, I’m fine.”
“Okay. We’re having a going away party on Friday, will you come?”
“Of course. I’ll be there.”
“You can bring three guests, if you catch my drift.”
“Ha-ha very amusing, I’ll see if they want to come.”
“Okay, well I have to go. See you tomorrow at school!”
“Okay, bye!”
Wow, moving. This isn’t going to be fun.

My will shall shape the future. Whether I fail or succeed shall be no man’s doing but my own. I am the force, I can clear any obstacle before me or I can be lost in the maze. My choice, my responsibility, win or lose, only I hold the key to my destiny
It is a quote from elaine maxwell. i try to live my life by this quote. i am thinking about putting it on my calf. I don’t take this lightly and expect to keep it for all my life. I have been contemplating it for the past 6 months. My mom approves and i can talk to my dad and uncle for advice(both of which have tats). i am thinking of getting it air brushed first to test it out. and i am not worried about people seeing it. if i didn’t want people to see it i wouldn’t get a tattoo. i also know that i will have to cover it up for formal ocassions.
it would look kind of like this(http://www.cbssports.com/images/spin/photos/tattoo6.jpg)btw, im 18 going on 19 and pay for the majority of my needs. i am just living with my parents while i attend college. so what do you reckon?
What is one thing you bought your child that you wished you hadn’t?
And what was your favorite thing you bought?
A tattoo airbrush set. This thing makes a mess, and it isn’t simple to get off of the desk, or her for that much. Washable yeah right, she has to scrub and scrub to get it off of her.
mp3 players – they can all listen to thire kinda of music, without me having to hear three different radios blarring
I like all the music they listen too but it is hard to hear all three at once lol
I just thought it was my daughter with the moon sand, she wanted it soo terrible and we got it for christmas for her, and it ends up grounded in the carpet, I despise that stuff too..
who watches the watchmen- I thought that was sooo amusing , because my daughter has tormented me with hanna montanna so much
It is now zack and cody – she has all last week and started today when she came home from her mom’s – been saying yeah me, after london tipton…

tattoo? pen ?airbrush??? help?
ok. I really want to have a small tattoo either on my side or behind my shoulder.. i have been doing both with a pen every few days.. it looks really real.. I am 18, but my mom still dosen’t want me getting one.
I don’t want needles into my skin anyways..
so i want to know if anyone else ever uses pen on their skin alot like to draw on themselves.. or for a temp tattoo..
Is it okay to continue doing it? someone called the poison control center and they said the pen would have to go 3 layers into the skin and absorb into the blood stream for it to poison you..
so if they say it’s safe, can i just use pen for a while, until i can start airbrushing.. i might get airbrush paint and do it myself.. i don’t know if i can though..
thanks for any anwsers..
What is the longest amount of time a temporary tattoo can last?
I want to get a tattoo. But, i want to tell my mom it is temporary.
